We are not your typical PHP / linux host.
WP Core is ours. Period. You cannot modify/alter WP Core files, including wp-admin folders, twenty-x themes and files like wp-login.php
There is absolute no need for you to fiddle with those files and folders at all.
We take care of all WP Core software updates. And yes, also in weekends and Christmas. You can be 200% sure that the WP Core files are up to date and unaltered from the WP Core source. If you want to be on our mailinglist, ask us, so we can email you up front when we do a version update.
So .. if you want to migrate , use all in one migration. Or do it manually.
We offer Jetbackup for easy file and database restores. Backups are stored offsite.
We only offer PHP versions from https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php , next to security patches we update normally in march and november each year.
The WP-config is special, you should not overwrite it. If you do so, check this article.
We highly recommend using SSH keys for login. Use filezilla or your terminal.
We use very strict referral headers. Check this article.
All connections must go to the server hostname, not the domainname, nor ftp.domain.ext
We run wp-cli, git and more tools on the server by default.
We use reverse proxies. Be very careful when you want to install a security plugin. There is a big chance you will block the proxy and by doing so, the entire internet. Rest assured, we do a lot of firewalling on multiple levels.
If you run your own DNS servers, ask us for your public DNS ipv4 and ipv6 records. In most cases we handle all DNS settings for you.
In addition: those proxies run varnish cache. CDN is external by the way with auto WEBP conversion.
We scan outgoing emails, comment forms and login forms on user IP and contents.
We block common user agents like curl and wget. Also see this article about empty user agents.
Old user agents ( over 5 years ) or user agents with improper headers are presented with a on-screen automated verification.
